Actress Bimbo Thomas recently opened up to interviewer Chude Jideonwo on his coveted podcast, With Chude, about the disturbing events that took place during the filming of the movie. According to the actress, who played Nikky in both Omo Ghetto and Omo Ghetto: The Saga, the production period was not without serious challenges.

Herself, Funke Akindele, and a third party were attacked by some heavily armed men who specifically demanded Funke Akindele and threatened to shoot if they did not produce her:

“It was around 12 midnight, almost 1 if I’m not mistaken. So we heard bang noises. Oley, oley, oley, oley, oley… So, you know, she peeked through the window, we didn’t see anything.”

She continued to explain how Funke Akindele surrendered herself and was taken away by the goons:

“…They drag her down, pardon me. So, they took her to the car and we were there, shivering, we didn’t know what to do. I got downstairs. I just heard her singing, ‘Emi omo getto, I was born in the ghetto.’ I didn’t know what was happening. So why she singing? They asked her to dance, you know, and be singing and she was doing it.”
