Grammy Awards 2026 Winners List: Kendrick Lamar Ties Jay-Z’s Record as Fela Kuti, Nigerian Artists Win

It was announced earlier that Fela Kuti will receive a posthumous Grammy Award for Lifetime Achievement.
While the main show and several major categories are yet to be announced, some awards have already been revealed, with Kendrick Lamar already tying Jay-Z’s record for the most Grammy wins by a rapper in history, with 25 Grammy wins.

Nigerian-American Star Shaboozey Wins and Dedicates Award to Immigrants

Nigerian American artist, Collins Obinna Chibueze, aka Shaboozey, took home the 2026 Grammy for Best Country Duo/Group Performance. During his acceptance speech, he used the platform to speak against U.S. immigration policies. In his speech, he dedicated the award to immigrants, saying:

“Immigrants built this country, literally. So this is for them, for all children of immigrants. This is also for those who came to this country in search of better opportunities, t be part of a nation that promised freedom for all and equal opportunity to everyone willing to work for it.”

Tyla Wins the Best African Music Performance

Even though many fans predicted Afrobeats singers Davido and Ayra Starr as their favourites to win this category, for her song “Push 2 Start,” Tyla took home the award, marking this as her second Grammy win of her career. Other artists nominated in the category include:
