Honk for Jesus. Save your soul is a 2022 comedy released on 2 September that stars popularly known actor Sterling K. Brown and Regina Hall. Adamma Ebo wrote and directed the movie.

 Trinitie Childs (Regina Hall) and her husband, Pastor Lee-Curtis Childs (Sterling K. Brown), served a congregation of thousands. A scandal rocked the Southern Baptist Mega-church and forced it to close. 

Trinitie is on a mission to reopen the church and build the congregation. Her husband, Pastor Lee Curtis Childs, is also on a mission, but are they working towards the same goal?

This thought-provoking movie focuses on the model Christian lifestyle and the vices that plague it. These vices include sexual assault, homosexuality and everything in between.

Anita was the head of the documentary production. Although there was never a face or voice to this strange character, the unknown character Anita was pivotal in the telling of the sorry.

The incredible cast did justice to the story that would have otherwise felt rushed. With a wrap sheet like hers, it is not surprising that an actress like Regina King would do justice to the story. Sterling K. Brown, just coming out of the tear-jerking This is Us series, also brought life to the movie.

The Film Was Quite An Accurate representation Of The Perversion Of Religion

If you want to see a film depicting the new world, you should probably watch this movie.

Pastor Curtis Childs established he was into younger men between the ages of 20 and above. His preferences made the characters in the movie wonder why the First Lady stayed despite everything that happened. There’s no doubt that they are homosexual pastors as much as perverts as pastors, but it would be beautiful to note that even though these pastors are servants of God.

Finally, this movie talks about the corruption in the US mega-churches, the closeted pastor of this century, and how hard it is to keep a relationship. The move is also reminiscent of the scandals that have affected some churches in Nigeria.

• Christian Oyakhilome is the founder and president of LoveWorld Incorporated, also known as Christ Embassy. After months of rumours suggesting that all was not well with the marriage, In 2014, Anita Oyakhilome filed for a divorce. She accused her pastor-husband of indulging in illicit affairs with female members of the church.
• In 2019, Model and actress Busola Dakolo sued Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo. The lawsuit came after she alleged he raped her in 2002. Busola Dakolo also demanded recompensation for her emotional distress. In January 2022, the founder of Commonwealth Of Zion Assembly (COZA), Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo, was also accused of owing salaries of church workers.
• Another noteworthy scandal is the never-ending rift between controversial Instagram journalist, Gistlover and controversial man of God, Apostle Johnson Suleiman. The scandal is everything from sex scandals to misconduct and everything in between.

relationships. One can look at this as a movie that illustrates corruption in the US megachurch, but it is more than that. One actor portrays someone who may not totally understand how choices he makes in his sexual life affect the church and his wife. The other actor, the wife, caught up in materialism and fame representing the outside world, evolves into self-awareness and starts to take emotional control of herself, pushing back against her earlier roles as cheerleading for her husband, reflecting on her love for Christ, being the core that allows the church to grow, culminating in a dissonance when she considers that she, not her husband, is the victim. I interpret this as her feeling that she does a lot in the background that is not fully understood or appreciated, the possibility that her husband will likely mess up again by sexually harassing young men, and living a life where her sexual needs are not met. Like many novels written today, the movie does not conclude with resolutions. But, it is one of the more thought-provoking movies I have seen in a long time. I went into the movie expecting a lot of humor, but we left talking for over an hour about the intent and themes in the movie.
