The general notion that the place of women is in the kitchen while men provide for the family has shifted. Probably due to the lifestyle /economy of the world. Tara Fela-Durotoye

The entrepreneur and mother, Tara Fela-Durotoye, is the founder and CEO of the House of Tara International beauty brand. She is an entrepreneur, lawyer and pioneer in the bridal makeup profession in Nigeria. Tara Fela-Durotoye launched international standard makeup studios and the first makeup school in Nigeria. She has been recognized both locally and internationally for her contribution to the beauty industry in Nigeria and Africa; she has been enlisted in Forbes as one of the 20 Young Power Women in Africa

Folorunso Alakija

One of the most notable mothers in Nigeria is Folorunsho Alakija, she is a diverse businesswoman. She has her hands in several industries: fashion, real estate, oil and publication. She is the executive vice chairperson of Famfa; and the managing director, Rose of Sharon Group. Folorunsho Alakija is a working mother in Nigeria with four grown children.

Adesuwa Onyenokwe

The long-time television hostess and speaker have been on the Nigerian media scene for decades. She is a firm voice for the feminist movement in Nigeria by hosting interactive and sensitizing talk shows geared toward educating women. She started as a presenter in NTA (Nigerian Television Authority) and then owned her own magazine “Today’s Woman” and several talk shows over the years.

Adesuwa Onyenokwe is currently the moderator (Aunty) in the ongoing love reality TV show, Ultimate Love.

Joke Silva

The veteran actress, producer philanthropist, has been on the Nollywood scene since 1990. Silva is the Director of Studies at the Lufodo Academy of Performing Arts, owned by her and her husband, who is also a veteran in the Nigerian movie industry. They met in 1981 at a work event and are now the proud parents of two grown-up children.

Ngozi Okonjo-Iwela

The money woman rose through the ranks, starting as an economist for several years and becoming the deputy director of the World Bank. She is also a multiple-time finance minister of Nigeria.

Yutee Rone

Yutibe Rone is a fashion designer and CEO of her famous international fashion brand. Yutee Rone famously bore her name. It is a go-to atelier for outfits that are fashion-redefining, boldly detailed, and stylish. The brand is made especially for bold women. Mary Remmy-Njoku

 Since her break in a movie in 2004, Mary Remmy-Njoku has progressed from a career as an actress to founding one of the biggest movie studios in Africa (Iroko studio). Iroko TV gives Africa a pleasant view of what entertainment is like in Nigeria, and the world what it’s like in Africa. The mother of three has produced and directed several movies and television shows like the husbands of Lagos and single ladies. 

Funke Akindele-Bello

Akindele Olufunke Ayotunde AKA, Jenifa is a Nigerian actress and producer. In 1998 she appeared in the family sitcom “I Need to Know”. She re-launched her career by playing the lead character in the television show Jenifa’s Diary, in which she won several awards and became a household name; she is a mother of two.

Omotola Ekinde-Jolaide

The multi-talented Nollywood actress since she emerged in the movies industry in the 1990s. She has spread thin into several other aspects of entertainment, including music, reality shows, and production; she is a mother of four.

Di’Ja

Hadiza Blell, well-known by her stage name Di’Ja, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. She is currently signed to Mavin Records. The mavin record songstress has gained massive success in her career as a musical artist; she released her first single in 2009. She has won several awards as a musician over the years.
