Grammy Awards 2026: Nigerian Winners, Nominees and How to Watch Live in Nigeria

The 2026 Grammy Awards is set to hold today, February 1, 2026, and several music lovers and creatives are paying close attention, with all eyes and ears on which of their favourite artists or creators will be walking away with one of the most coveted awards in music history.

For Nigerians, however, with only a few highly rated artists nominated, the stakes are even higher. Moreover, this isn’t new. Burna Boy became the first mainstream Nigerian artist to win a Grammy for his album Twice As Tall (Best Global Music Album) in 2021. At the time, the award was something many Nigerian artists could only dream of.

Wizkid also won his first Grammy in 2021 as a featured artist on Beyoncé’s “Brown Skin Girl” in the Best Music Video category at the Grammy Awards.

Several Nigerians, including Burna Boy, Sade, Wizkid, and Tems, have at least one Grammy award in their trophy collection.

Burna Boy was the first Afrobeats artist to win a Grammy, capping the award in 2021 for his album Twice As Tall in the Best Global Music Album category. The album was executive-produced by Sean “Diddy” Combs (P. Diddy) and featured artists like Angélique Kidjo.

Tems also has an amazing history, not only with the Grammys but with international recognition across major award platforms, including the NAACP Image Awards, among others.

Legendary Afrobeat pioneer Fela Anikulapo Kuti was honoured during the 68th Grammy Awards held on February 2, 2026, with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Grammy Awards 2026. Members of his family received the award in his honour. The late music icon was recognised for his lasting influence on global music, culture, and political expression. Fela Kuti posthumously received the Lifetime Achievement Award.

How Can You Watch the Grammy Live in Nigeria?

Bravo (Channel 124) typically broadcasts the live red carpet coverage. So, if you are more interested in the fashion than the music, checking out Live from the Red Carpet might be a great watch for you.

For the 2026 Grammy Awards proper, if you have an active DStv subscription, you can watch the ceremony live on 1Magic (Channel 103) or M-Net (Channel 101). Please note that you must have an active DStv subscription to watch this live on TV.

You can also stream the event live on Paramount+ if you’re looking not to miss a second of the show. Paramount+ is the official livestream platform for the Grammys and carries the full awards ceremony, including the main event. However, because Paramount+ is geo-restricted to the U.S., you may need to use a VPN connected to a U.S. server to access it from Nigeria.

The 68th Grammy Awards will take place on Monday, February 2, 2026. Since the U.S. show starts at 8:00 PM ET, viewers in Nigeria (WAT) can expect the main ceremony to air around 1:00 AM.

For free and partial content, you can watch official streams of the Premiere Ceremony and performances on the Recording Academy’s YouTube channel and live.GRAMMY.com, usually earlier in the evening.

Additionally, you can stay tuned on social media pages like TMZ and The Shade Room for real-time updates, including winners, clips, red carpet fashion, and acceptance speeches.
