The pair, Rousey, 39, and Carano, 44, despite the tension leading to the fight, seemed to have found a whole new respect for each other, as they both appeared to have nothing but admiration and respect for one another.
During a post-match interview, Rousey, who had not been in the ring for a decade, told Carano during the Netflix livestream:
“You changed my world and we changed the world. And I will never, ever forget. I will never be able to pay you back enough. But I’m so glad we got to share this moment.’’
On the other hand, Gina Carano, who was also returning to the ring for the first time in 17 years, also shared some heartfelt words for her opponent, Ronda Rousey.
“I wanted that to last longer. I felt like I was so ready, I felt so good. I never felt that good, but I haven’t been here for 17 years.’’
