Super Eagles Destroy Zimbabwe 2-0 as Nigeria March Into Unity Cup Final

After the disappointing end to their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations campaign, Nigeria’s national football team is back to their winning ways, and Zimbabwe’s national football team was the first to feel their wrath in a dominant 2-0 friendly victory.

Under the management of Eric Chelle, the Super Eagles are now set to rally against either the Jamaica national football team or the India national football team as they look to retain their Unity Cup crown.

Nigeria has won the Unity Cup three times, lifting the trophy in 2002, 2004, and most recently in 2025 after a valiant victory over Jamaica. If Jamaica defeats India, fans and the Super Eagles could be in for a déjà vu moment.

The most recent championship took place at Brentford Community Stadium, where Nigeria defeated Jamaica in the final to become champions in 2025. That impressive record makes Nigeria the most successful nation in the history of the tournament.

Thanks to a valiant effort from the Super Eagles, Nigeria wasted no time taking control of the match, scoring an early goal just four minutes into the game before adding another in the 63rd minute to seal the comfortable victory.
