Attorney General Malami Is Being Accused Of Misleading Nigerians

The chairman of the Human and Environmental Development Agenda (HEDA), Mr Olanrewaju Suraju, has accused the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, of misleading Nigerians, and has called on President Buhari to reject his advice.

The Human and Environmental Development Agenda (HEDA) Resource Centre isn’t too happy with Attorney General Abubakar Malami. They’re calling him out for allegedly deceiving Nigerians and want President Buhari to ignore his advice.

Apparently, HEDA has been keeping an eye on the OPL 245 case since 2012, and they think Malami’s advice to abandon the prosecution is completely bogus. In a letter to the president, The HEDA boss argued that letting these companies off the hook would send a message that corruption is A-OK in Nigeria.

HEDA also criticised Malami’s failure to give honest advice to the president and accused him of being disrespectful to both Buhari and his office. They pointed out that Nigeria has already won one case in London, resulting in the return of $80 million to the national treasury, while $115 million remains frozen in Switzerland thanks to the legal team’s efforts.

HEDA’s main beef seems to be that Malami’s advice goes against Nigeria’s commitments under the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC). They’re hoping that President Buhari will ignore Malami’s nonsense and stay committed to the fight against corruption.
