the document obtained by SaharaReporters Shows Festus Keyamo as the owner of a property in Texas worth over 100M Naira
Keyamo implicated in property scandal – according to documents obtained by SaharaReporters.
The document reveals that Keyamo allegedly purchased a property in Texas, USA. The property is worth over $359,000, at 5509 Silver Canyon LN TX 77583 in Savannah Trace. However, without a traceable income that could justify the purchase, there are speculations about the source of the money. Keyamo was a prosecutor with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and had handled several corruption cases for them.
However, he withdrew as the lead prosecutor in a corruption case between the Federal government and former Governor Timipre Sylva of Bayelsa State in 2016.
Keyamo had recently written to the anti-graft agencies, ICPC, EFCC and CCB. In his letter, he called for the arrest, interrogation, and prosecution of the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, for alleged fleecing of public funds.
In a suit filed at an Abuja Federal High Court against the CCB, ICPC, and EFCC, the Minister had prayed the court to make a mandatory order compelling the anti-graft agencies to invite and/or arrest, investigate and prosecute Atiku.
