It’s been a hell of a week for Love Island USA fans. It’s been from one story to the next since the cast lineup was announced, days before the show even premiered.
Fans went from talking about the cast, which, first of all, props to the casting crew for diversification and representation. Although, since Tiffany Haddish’s Sports Illustrated runway walk went viral, maybe one pooch or two would not hurt. Let’s get someone with a little more padding in the villa; we all can’t be toned.
Once we got that out of the way, fans got wind of how poorly the season’s photography made the Love Island USA Season 8 cast, specifically Anaya, who everyone agreed had the least flattering picture.
Then came the controversy, from the “N-word” spitting Vasana, who got something worse than the Yulissa treatment, and the MAGA-loving Gabriel, who was demoted from Main Cast to bombshell.

Love Island USA Season 8 Episode 1 Recap
Bombshells Gabriel and Kayda arrived almost immediately, and the islanders coupled and made themselves available by stepping on the red circle the moment they got the chance. Zach is stolen from Kenzie, and although Kenzie cried her eyes out, it’s possibly for the best, as Zack prefers “women with darker features.”
Bombshell Gabriel also left with Beatriz and Trinity, which, again, may be the best, as the couples were already on quite a shaky ship.
Beatriz would probably have ditched Sean because she mentioned she never dates men with kids. Additionally, since Sean is a country music fan who wants to learn to line dance, and Beatriz would gladly embrace another disability, it’s better now than later.
Trinity and Bryce may be ones to keep an eye on, though. Fans love a woman who loves a hardworking man, regardless of the flex. But they may have to get over a seven-year age gap.
Malanie and Sincere, Anaya and KC, seem to be the strongest couples so far. Predictions indicate that Malanie and Sincere may be giving finalist vibes from the outset, and giving Serena and Kordell vibes, but without the slow burn.

This is the first lineup after the Season 8 premiere of Love Island USA; the original couples were:
- Kenzie Annis and Zach Georgiou
- Melanie Moreno and Sincere Rhea
- Aniya Harvey and KC Chandler
- Beatriz Hatz and Sean Reifel
- Trinity Tatum and Bryce Dettloff
Then the premiere twist changed things almost immediately and shook things up, giving fans:
- Bombshell Gabriel Vasconcelos chose Beatriz and Trinity.
- Bombshell Kayda chose Zach and Bryce.
