Former Big Brother Naija star Uriel Oputa has disclosed to fans that she may never have a child due to a medical condition, adding that she had made peace with this fact.
The former Big Brother Naija housemate disclosed that she had stopped seeing her circle for over 10 years, while also explaining how she came to the decision to change her diet.
“Eleven years ago, I completely stopped having my menstrual cycle. I had made peace with not being a mother. Around that time, my niece was born, and I told myself, ‘As long as I have her, I’m okay.’
But then something clicked in me. I went to see my GP, and he told me I was overweight, I had PCOS, and my blood pressure was high. I decided to make a change — and I did that by changing my diet.”
Uriel Oputa Highlights How Diet and Lifestyle Changes Can Combat Nigeria’s Rising Health Crisis

Uriel also used her story to highlight Nigeria’s growing health concerns, noting the rising cases of hypertension, obesity, diabetes, and ulcers linked to diet and lifestyle. Uriel also talked about pointing out how instrumental dietary changes and lifestyle changes can help checkmate the rising health crisis related to food and lifestyle.
“Did you know that in Nigeria there are now higher cases of high blood pressure, obesity, diabetes, and ulcer? And a lot of this comes from what we eat. Everything is stressful, okay?
Food can actually help you regulate your blood pressure. The juices you drink, the type of foods you eat, the oils you put into your body — all those things can help regulate your blood pressure, your sugar levels, and also your mood.
Food can also help you build stronger immunity. For example, at New Year’s Kitchen, we sell ginger and turmeric shots to help boost your immunity.”
