Gary O’Neil, according to The New York Times, is in talks about becoming the new Strasbourg head coach, and a decision is expected later today, January 7, 2026.
This comes after the position of Strasbourg’s head coach became vacant, as the club’s current head coach, Liam Rosenior, replaced Enzo Maresca at Chelsea. Chelsea announced Liam Rosenior as the new head coach on a long-term contract on January 6, 2026.
With the Liam Rosenior seat at Strasbourg now vacant, it is now being reported that a strong contender for Strasbourg’s head coach is Gary O’Neil.

Gary O’Neil’s Coaching Career and Recent Wolves Exit
Gary O’Neil was replaced by Pereira in December 2025 after leading Wolves for a little over 14 months.
