Adamawa state is a state in the North-East geopolitical zone of Nigeria. It is bordered on the west, northwest and southwest by Gombe State, Bornu state and Taraba state, respectively. The eastern border of Adamawa State forms part of the national border with Cameroon.
They established Adamawa State on August 27, 1991, taking its name from the historic emirate of Adamawa. The emirate's old capital, Yola, also serves as the capital city of Adamawa state.
